Davey Strange is a musician with a sound that's hard to pin down — raw and romantic in equal measure, with an emotional directness that demands a visual world to match. The brief was total: identity, artwork, print, merch, social assets and a website, all built from scratch to give the music somewhere to live.
Working independently across every touchpoint, the starting point was understanding the music and the personality behind it. The identity needed to feel handmade without being rough — offbeat and honest, with enough craft to hold its own on a record sleeve or a stage backdrop.
From there the world expanded outwards: vinyl and cassette artwork, posters, merchandise and social assets, all carrying the same visual language. The website brought everything together into a single cohesive platform.
There's something particularly satisfying about seeing artwork land on Apple Music and Spotify — the moment a visual identity moves from a screen into the world, appearing alongside the music it was made for. The physical print had the same effect: holding the finished vinyl sleeve for the first time is one of those moments that makes the whole project feel real.
A complete visual identity for an independent artist — built to travel across formats, from streaming thumbnails to stage merch, without losing anything along the way. A new website is currently in development for 2026.
